THE STORY OF LIFE COMMUNITY CHURCH!

2012-'13 – TAKING ROOT

Life Community Church took root in 2012 with a vision to bring life to the DuBois area. In 2013, pastor James Goodman and his wife, Niki, began to build a team to start a church that would be used by God to rise up the spiritually dry, dead bones.

2014 – BEGINNING TO SERVE

We began holding services in March of 2014 in a small media center across from the DuBois Library. After 3 years of an average attendance of 10-15 people each week, we decided to take a step of faith by moving to a new, larger location to allow more growth.

SPRING 2017 – ASSURANCE IN THINGS UNSEEN

In March of 2017, we began meeting in a Community Center. We did a Grand Reopening on April 2, 2017. That first Sunday, we saw the attendance triple to over 40 people! By the end of July, we were no longer able to meet at the Community Center and had to find a new location.

The summer of 2017 saw us meeting at several different locations in the community. The attendance stayed around 20-30, and new people continued to check us out! We prayed and searched for a new facility.

FALL 2017 – A NEW HOME

By the end of summer, God provided a new facility for LCC in the empty storefront between Scotto’s Pizzeria and Subway at the DuBois Mall. We began meeting at our new facility in October of 2017, and did some cosmetic renovations to the interior before Easter 2018.

2018-'19 – BLESSINGS AND GROWTH

On Easter 2018 we saw our attendance reach 100 people for the first time!

On September 15, 2019, Life Community Church became a fully Sovereign church within the Assemblies of God!

SPRING 2025 - A BUILDING OF OUR OWN

For a few years, trying to find a new location. Nothing we looked at seemed to meet our needs appropriately, and even promising places fell though.

In the Fall of 2024, an opportunity arose when we found out that the Luigi's Villa (Litts Club) was going up for sale. Pastor James reached out, and the location met all of the criteria we were hoping for, and more! We put an offer in, and after some negotiating, agreed on a price.

On Wednesday, February 19, 2025, we officially closed on the building, and it became ours!

With large meeting spaces, a phenomenal kitchen, and even a bowling alley downstairs, this location is a blessing for opportunities to do so much for the people of DuBois!

LOOKING FORWARD TO THE FUTURE

We thank God that He provided a new home for Life Community Church, and we eagerly look forward to all of the ways that He will use us to be a light and blessing in our community!
